Burning Love

Toronto, Canada's Burning Love is a heavy hitting, rock'n'roll fused hardcore punk behemoth featuring Chris Colohan of Cursed, Left For Dead, Ruination & much more.  They're sound is intense and driving with layers of kick-ass guitar riffs that're madly climbing along the frets with plenty of incredible solo's.  The bass and drums are thunderous and loud and the vocals are forcefully gruff with plenty aggression and harmony.  These guys have been killing it since their demo dropped in '09.  They just dropped a new LP this year so I figured I'd gather the rest of these gems for y'all.  Snag everything below and bang your head...forever.  Dig.

Natural Law

Picture of Natural Law
Natural Law is one solid hardcore punk powerhouse!  These guys are fierce and fast but still catchy and straight-ahead.  The vocals are raging and down your throat, drums are beating rapidly, twangy and thrash-drenched riffs tear right through you as the bass slaps you in the face.  I can't get enough of these guys lately so I thought I'd share the joy.  Snag everything and dig heavy.  Dig!

Dahmer

Quebec City's Dahmer constructed blistering grindcore mayhem from 1995-2000.  These Canadian maniacs played insanely fast and performed menacingly brutal sets of some of the craziest and most destructive grind I've heard.  Thick distorted riffs, super-low bass, non-stop drum killing, sketchy growls, gurgles and shrieks all delivered at the fastest pace possible.  Dahmer is simply classic for any fan of good ole' grindcore.  Below, I posted The Studio Sessions Discography CD because It's unrelenting and timeless and also because I can't find their "Our Worst Recordings CD-R"  which would complete their discography.  Enjoy these jams to the fullest.  Dig!

Confines

REPOST! Confines are a supergroup who play thrashy punk that's raw as fuck. You know the routine, sloppy guitar work, obnoxious and hateful vocals, typical aggressive drumming that mostly relies on hi-hats or ride symbols, and most importantly, noise.

Sobriety High

Photo by Shawn Kornhauser Sobriety High
Sobriety High is a heavy duty hardcore band out of Western Mass.  Rough and tough and drawing major influence from old school chug filled mosh and thrash greats.  This shit's angry, ripping, thumping and badass!  Filled with classic breakdowns, group chants, clever transitions and sick crusty parts for any hxc fan.  I Don't know much about these guys other than the fact they recorded with Will Dandy at Dead Air Studios, all of their material was released by Galambis Records outta WMASS and Mike, the vocalist, was the drummer of the behemoth known as Relics.  These dudes are toast now, but snag their jams below and spin-kick someone in the face.  Dig

California Love

Picture of California Love
Here is some furious grinding powerviolence from Oakland's California Love.  These dudes played fast, ugly and punishing jams that are heavy and non-stop.  Layers of noisy riffs combine with tons of feedback, down-tuned bass, absurdly fast drum skills and disgusting vocals that are just plain rowdy.  These guys destroyed everything in their path from 2006-2010.  Snag everything below and enjoy these harsh grind/punk classics.  Dig.

Toe

RE-POST! Instrumental (most of the time), Indie, math-rock, and experimental. Japan's Toe shine a new light on instrumental music. They have lots of awesome stuff happening in their songs. Pretty picking, jazzy drums, cool sounding keyboards, and effects up the wahzoo from all of the above. I do warn that these guy aren't for everybody. They do get a little odd at times, but if you like the genres above and the bands below, I think you'll dig. If you're still a little cautious about jumping on this, I'd recommend downloading The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety first. It's straight ahead indie math-rock goodness. This is all their stuff, download and open your mind.

*Note: On the Collection Of Colonies Of Bees split the first track is a Pele song covered by Toe, and the second is a remix version of a Toe song. I can't find the original, so I'm assuming the remix is the original. It be great if someone could tell me otherwise.

Monster X

Monster X was a grindcore infused straight-edge hardcore band from Albany, NY.  These guys destroyed the 90's with their harsh and destructive blend of blasting hardcore that's filled with philosophical and political messages within their thoughtful lyrics.  These guys were brutal and classic with endless amounts of fierce guitar riffs, muddy bass, super-fast drums and growls straight from the gut.  Download their discography below and dig these greats.  DIG!

Flat Out

FlatOut(7 Soon 625/UnholyThrash/GivePraise)
Flat Out was a short-lived fastcore behemoth from California that was formed and sadly vaporized from 2009-2010.  These madmen played at ridiculous speeds and sound highly influenced by great spazzed-out japcore.  This is some of the best powerviolence/fastcore I never heard!  Thrashy, ripping, non-stop and filled with rage.  Snag their discography below and prepare for your face to melt from your fucking skull.  DIG!

Young And In The Way

North Carolina's Young And In The Way play some of the best blackened punk currently. For those of you who don't know what the fuck blackened punk means, just think, punky, crusty, raw, and intense music leaning towards black metal. Genres and labels suck anyway. Download a release, and see for yourself.

Violent Bullshit

NY's Violent Bullshit consists of Jayson Green (Orchid, Panthers & Ritual Mess) on vocals along with some other rad dudes who've spent time in Black Army Jacket, Fiery Furnaces & Les Savy Fav.  These O.G.'s crank out some great early 80's hardcore punk that is down your throat with snarling and raspy vox, fuzzy bass, groovy thrash punk riffs and drums parts that have no plan of stopping.  These guys are mean, nasty, fast, catchy and fun as hell.  They just dropped an LP this year that's sooo good.  Snag that along with a live radio set below.  DIG!
